Standalone Sunday :: 12/04/16

•Happy Sunday, my blogging buddies! Once again, it’s time for another Standalone Sunday! Let’s see what the recommendations are for this week!

Standalone Sunday is a feature created by yours truly where each Sunday we will feature a standalone book (not part of a series) that you loved or would recommend! There’s so much focus on books that are part of a series… I thought it’d be nice to focus on some standalone novels, too!

Feel free to join in on this weekly feature by creating your own Standalone Sunday post! And you’re more than welcome to use the image I created. Link to your post in the comments below or make sure you link back to this post so I can check it out and add you down below!

Two misfits.
One extraordinary love.

Eleanor… Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough…Eleanor.

Park… He knows she’ll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There’s a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises…Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

Today I chose Rainbow Rowell’s Eleanor & Park because I feel that it’s a perfect representation of a YA Contemporary Romance. It has everything you would want in a book of its genre. It’s actually so good that it won the 2013 Goodreads Choice Award for Best Young Adult Fiction book! I haven’t read all of Rowell’s books, but I can certainly say that I love her writing and will be reading plenty more of her work.

      1. Carry On is a good one !! The characters and romance are honestly to die for, and it was a super quick read for me. If you love Fangirl, you’ll love it !!

  1. Great pick for this week Megan. I haven’t read all of Rainbow Rowell’s book either, Eleanor and Park is one of the ones I haven’t read, but the two I have picked up I adored so I need to get around to this one ASAP. It sounds great and the fact that it’s written by Rainbow Rowell means it’s bound to be amazing as well! 😀
