Update :: Winter Bookish Bingo

Hey, guys! Dropping another post today to do a quick update on my Winter Bookish Bingo board! For more info on this seasonal challenge, check out Pretty Deadly Reviews.

Spaces Daubed

Crime :: The Row by J.R. Johannson

Survival :: milk and honey by Rupi Kaur

Last season I chose candy corn daubers. This time, I’m using little gingerbread man daubers!

I’ve knocked out a couple squares so far, which I’m feeling pretty good about, since I’m almost done with a third square too. I’m hoping to do a lot better this season than I did in the fall and I’ve still got plenty of time to get a few bingo’s. I WILL DO IT!! 😉

I’d love to see how everyone’s doing so far, so link your boards up below and I’ll check them out!

Are you participating in Winter Bookish Bingo? If so, have you gotten any bingo’s yet?

    1. I was in a slump for a couple months and I’m just now slowly coming out of it, thankfully. So I’m not really reading as much as usual either. But I don’t have a good excuse for it… like Birthday celebrations! Woo! Happy Belated Birthday! What have you been doing to entertain yourself and celebrate?

      1. Megan, I will recommend 12 Days of Christmas by Debbie Macomber; Of Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon. Those were great reads.

So I turned 40 and had a Spartacus themed party with a Roman themed cake. I’ll post on my blog sometime this weekend. Friends dressed up as Romans (togas) and my brother got a gladiator costume at Party City. Even borrowed my 7yr olds light saber for a sword. All the ladies wore “Roman attire” with the color scheme of white (off, ivory, etc), gold, silver. We had a party and it was a blast.

  1. This reminds me that I never finished Fall Bingo. 😂 I have been so forgetful lately. Your board is super cute, Megan! Have you read Fifty Shades of Grey? That could be a banned book to write a funny snark about. 🙈 I love snarking that book. It’s too easy. 😂

    1. Thanks, Jill! I didn’t finish fall bingo either. But hopefully I’ll get into this one a bit better, now that I’m out of my slump. I actually haven’t read Fifty Shades of Grey. I have been warned not to, though. Lol. I was thinking of rereading Harry Potter for the banned book square…

      1. I was totally in a slump after SOC and CK wasn’t helping me at all. Ha! Yeah, it’s not a good book but makes for really funny material to laugh about. lol I was thinking about re-reading Harry Potter this winter. As soon as I get some free time, I’ll probably read them all in order again.

  2. This looks so cool 😍
What happens when you get a ‘bingo’ though?
Are there prizes involved or is it just an encouraging way to read more books?

    1. Each bingo season lasts three months, so this winter bingo is for December, January and February. I’m also doing the Beat the Backlist challenge! I just haven’t posted my TBR for it yet. Still trying to get it together! Have you posted your TBR for the Beat the Backlist challenge yet?

      1. Noperooni! Not yet!
Hell, I’m still trying to get my book mail posted from my Truthwitch win on Twitter! I’m so behind! It’s bc of this last review…I actually TWO STARRED A BOOK!
I don’t know if I’ll make an actual TBR, but I’ll make a post about Beat the Backlist and list some books on my Kindle and my shelf that I would like to read…but TBRs always change for me. Also, one of my NY Res is to pare down my TBR bc it’s at 700+ books! 🙀😲

      2. Whoa! And I thought mine was long! 😂
Don’t worry, it’s not a sickness…there are so many good books out there and every year there’s more! We will never catch up. So I’m going through to see what I have added purely from previous tastes or recs…stuff I’ll never read…it’s easier for me to clean that than my own room! 😂🤣
