I’m Alex Parker, the best defenseman in the NHL, heartbreaker, and troublemaker. My team had the best penalty kill record in the league, thanks to me. I was on a winning team and so close to the Stanley Cup before I hooked up with the wrong puck bunny—the team owner’s granddaughter. Oops! So, they shipped me off to Philadelphia to play for the Flyers, one of the worst teams in the league.

My agent thinks I need to clean up my act. I drink too much. I sleep around too much. He assigns Charlotte Coachman, aka Coach, to whip me into shape. Coach is a sexy as hell sports agent that challenges me, and every time we’re around each other it’s as if we’re having our own face-off. I want her but she has strict rules about dating clients. And I like breaking them.

When Jill first approached me about reading and reviewing her newly published novels, a bubbly urge of anticipation and nervousness rose up inside me. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her books! But at the same time, I was worried… wondering if I was the right person for the job, simply because my love for NA Romance is pretty much nonexistent. I didn’t realize that I needn’t worry… because Jill is a mastermind at taking something you aren’t a fan of, and making you love it! This happened to me with Corrupt Me… and now, with Parker!

She also does this with the characters she creates. Alex Parker did not appeal to me whatsoever in the beginning. I found him to be a selfish jerk of a womanizer. But man, does Jill know how to manipulate your emotions while reading! She took this obnoxious character and made me fall absolutely in love with him! How she does this, I’ll probably never know. But what I do know, is that I love this aspect of her books and writing.

‘We can’t do this, Alex. It’s completely unprofessional on my part. I have rules.’ Pressing his hand to the mat, he uses it to stabilize himself as he jumps to his feet. My breath hitches when he moves in front of me, and because of my height, our foreheads are touching. ‘Rules are meant to be broken.’

The dynamic between Charlotte and Alex was beautiful, in my opinion. I just love how they interacted with one another, how they grew into totally different people, it seemed. I ship Charlotte and Alex Parker 110%! They are one of my favorite couples I’ve read about in a while. Which is saying a lot, since I’m not a fan of Romance unless it’s done right…

And Parker was definitely done right!

If you’re a fan of NA Romance, or even if you’re not (like me), I know you will enjoy reading this book. Jillian Quinn has a talent for appealing to all types of readers, and making them fall in love, and I know you won’t be exempt from this! Give Parker a try and I promise you won’t regret it!

  1. I’m so happy you loved Parker! I had so much fun with this book. I love how Jill adds layers to her characters and an actual plot. I’m not a NA romance reader, but she gets me every time and I love her unique writing! Fab review!
